I know this because the guys were out mowing the lawns at work today. And I didn't need a coat. (I never wear one anyway, but today I really didn't need one.) And I was able to take my babies to the playground--and other kids were there. It was crazy. Then we came home to dinner all ready for us (I love the crock pot), and watched a little Dancing with the Stars. And then the best part happened.
Due to feeling miserable (with a 101.6 fever, which doesn't even faze me anymore...how disturbing is that?) and feeling exhausted (from a long day of playing at school and then at the playground), Kathryn went to sleep in her own bed. It took a little coaxing, and I had to bribe her with an Oreo to take some cold medicine first, but she went. And she actually went to sleep right away. Of course, then Annaliese woke up and started crying, but she just wanted to eat. Now both of my girls are sleeping--in their own beds--and I've had over an hour to actually do things. And what have I done? Dishes, laundry, email, and now blogging. I'd say that's a very productive hour. Now I'm going to reward myself with a little American Idol...or General Hospital since Evan might want to watch American Idol with me... Then again, he did go to the Cavs/Pistons game tonight and leave me home alone with both children...
Here's a little something to help you celebrate Spring, too:
So peaceful...

That is so great about Kathryn in her own bed!!!!
We went to a vaccine seminar yesterday and learned that a low grade fever is actually a good thing! SHOCKER!!! It's your body's way of getting out what it needs to get out! Crazy! Now if it goes above 103-104, then intervention should take place, otherwise, let it work it's self out, which by the sound of it, is what you do!
Ahh...so much easier said than done. (You'll see what I mean.) But, yes, we learned the hard way that Kathryn's fevers don't mean much until they're over 102. Twice she's had them above 103. That was a little scary.
bah. fevers are great. they make my kid sleep for once. :) kidding.
dude, what is your secret for having your kid sleep in her own bed? do share!
