The Trouble With Early Pregnancy

It's just plain exhausting.

I have two posts that have been "saved as drafts" and at least five more in my head, and I'm just too tired to take the time to insert pictures and create links. I think I failed to consider how much energy Kathryn takes up when conceiving again. At least with her, I only had a part-time job to contend with on a regular basis. I could easily sleep 15 hours a day and not have any trouble. And California weather is very relaxing in the fall. Now I have a part-time job and a full-day schedule of running all over the house/yard/playground/pool, trying to unpack and settle into the new house, and fight off morning sickness--which is also starting earlier this time around.

Do me a favor. The next time I'm thinking about getting pregnant, please remind me that pregnancy is not kind to me, and I should plan a month-long vacation at the start of it. Preferably someplace with ridiculously beautiful weather and a lot of white beaches. And also remind me to hire a nanny to go with me. Or, to convince one of my fabulous sisters-in-law to take over that responsibility for free. Wait a minute...isn't one of my sisters-in-law also a nanny??? Hmm... You'd like to spend a month at the ocean with Kathryn, NewBaby, and me, wouldn't you?

Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. Happy Mother's Day!

well, you already know that i am not a fan of pregnancy. whenever i hear that someone is expecting twins, i have a nasty habit of saying, "that sucks."

considering that you are on the exact same time frame as our little family, i can only wish you the best- and take any help that you can get because laying on the couch leaning over a bucket and begging your toddler to just stop whatever they are doing simply does not work.

I almost think having twins would be easier pregnancy-wise. You'd still have to go through all this--maybe worse--but at the end you'd have two kids in the same time that most people have one. You could completely skip the next pregnancy. Of course, then you'd have two kids going through the same phases. etc., at the same time. Their toddler years might kill a person.

Kathryn is now at a stage where she'll actually sit in front of the TV and watch Cinderella for 45 mins, so I'm taking full advantage or her limited cooperation.

not to spoil it but i was a big lover of pregnancy and am somewhat (not alot) got a tinge of envy on yours...
something tells me my next one aint gonna be so lovely.

haha! a beach does sound nice though!

Rachelle, what are you envious of??

Lindsay said...

Brittan, I'm not joking.

And why is everyone planning trips to California without me?!?! Don't you all realize how soothing the ocean is to me?!?!

i'm happy for you, but not at all jealous. haha.

cinderella is great, however, the day will come when kathryn decides to say... chuck duplos at the cat or finger paint on the walls... and all you can do is lay on the couch and say, "please don't"

that just doesn't work. hey, here's a proposal, though... how about if i leave my kids with brittan and come be your nanny instead?

Meagan, if you go to be Kathryn's nanny, you will have to contend with Henry. Cute dog, but twice the work of Kathryn. BTW, I'm with Rachelle on the pregnancy thing.

well, it's no secret that i do tend to miss my pregnancy, so i'm envious of all the people that are pregnant right now. not a lot, but a teeny tiny bit. although drew is definitely better than pregnancy.

Henry is NOT coming on vacation with me.

ohhhh, henry is the cutest.
although if it gets bad you can shove him in a suitcase with a little air opening.

we are going to cali for "business"! you can come if you would like. i will be by myself for a few days anyway! and i have to chuckle to myself when i think about wandering around san diego all alone! lol!

i want to go to cali.
ps. i am thinking, with the gas prices.. would it be cheaper to fly to your housewarming than drive?!?!?!?

Meagan Vanover, CWP said...

sorry, i do not watch dogs. i have retired from that occupation once. so sorry, henry, no luck on your part.

and as far as gas prices go, i filled my tank for $57 today. when gas prices are around $2.50 it is only around $40. i was horrified. thank god i don't drive anywhere.

Brittan said...

holy crap! $57 in your little car?!?!?!

lol! no i do not think it would be cheaper to fly! maybe we can drive with you rachelle...are you planning on staying the night?

Well, once I tell me employer that I'm pregnant, I might get a lot of time off, so I can definitely come to CA with you Brittan. I've spent a lot of time in San Diego. I'd be happy to show you around. ;)

yes $57 in my little car. i paid more per gallon than a tall chai latte.
